Guess Where?

Greetings all,

Have been asking myself lately, “Lord, how much have I missed because of my own arrogance?” Then a song came on the radio and I took the time to listen. So, I want to quote the great theologians R.E.M. an make a few additions from what the Lord showed me (these are mark by parentheses). Here are the lyrics to the song “Stand”.

“Stand in the place where you live (Am I a witness in my neighborhood?)
Now face North (Ask Jesus)
Think about direction (Where I am headed spiritually?)
Wonder why you haven’t before (Good question)
Now stand in the place where you work (Am I a witness in my workplace?)
Now face West (Ask Jesus, am I consistent where ever I am?)
Think about the place where you live (It needs to start at Home!)
Wonder why you haven’t before (Good question)

If you are confused check with the sun (Son / Jesus)
Carry a compass (the Bible) to help you along
Your feet are going to be on the ground (Our actions affect those around us.)
Your head (Jesus is the head of the body of Christ) is there to move you around”

Chorus

Your feet are going to be on the ground (Our actions affect those around us.)
Your head (Jesus is the head of the body of Christ) is there to move you around”
If wishes were trees the trees would be falling (Wishes don’t last but prayers are always heard and answered.)
Listen to reason (God/Trinity is the only reality we have), season is calling (What are you going to do for Him now!)

Chorus

I always wondered why I liked this song. Just took the time to look for what I could learn from it. Hmm, I wonder how much more I have missed. I know this is not new to some of us, but the point is this. Why do we not look for His hand everywhere? We miss many things because we automatically assume that God is only at work with things labeled “Christian”.
