Well, what a week we have had here in the mid Missouri. Snow and extremely cold weather. Many of us have been bound to our houses trying to keep things going. I know in my house we even took a snow afternoon. The boys were happy and had a great time out in it, but I think they liked the Hot Chocolate more! Anyway, as I have been at home doing a lot of thinking I realized that I was frustrated. Have you ever been frustrated with your self for be frustrated. Well, that is were I have been. As I think about why, I realized that it was not the snow or the cold weather that had me there. What was it then? Well, let me see if I can explain it. I know what God wants me to do and I typically do it, but in the middle of it I complain about it.
This complaining is all part of this fight that Paul talks about in his letter to the Galatians. “I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law (Galatians 5:16-18). ” The last line in this passage is the hope onto which I grab. We are not under the law if we are led by the Spirit. God’s knows that we have this fight and many Christians forget that He knows. If Jesus knows then He has given a provision and a promise to get me through. I know that He is with me and all I have to do is ask. Wow! When was the last time we just stopped trying to control and work the situations around us and just simple asked Him for HELP?

He, that is Jesus through the Holy Spirit, not me or my actions or my knowledge. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were created through Him, and apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created. Life was in Him, and that life was the light of men. That light shines in the darkness, yet the darkness did not overcome it (John 1:1-5).”
Enables, He is the only one that can enable me to spiritual growth and to see others through His eyes. But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me. So because of Christ, I am pleased in weaknesses, in insults, in catastrophes, in persecutions, and in pressures. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)”.
Love, the greatest love that anyone can show is to lay down our lives. Jesus did that for us! “As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Remain in My love. If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love. “I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. This is My command: love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends (John 15:9-13)”.
Perfectly, Jesus was the only one who has loved this way. We get our human selfishness in the way more times than not. But Jesus Perfectly gave us a example of what should be in our hearts. My heart wants what He wants, my actions sometimes fail. I thank God that He still loves me and He is not done with me. I have seen the enemies work in so many relationships over the years that it breaks my heart. I see a lot of people not asking for “HELP” but I do see a lot of selfishness and people asking for “I want”. I wonder when we will learn that the “I wants” never last, never satisfy, they only lead to wanting more of what separates people form what they need. “Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me–nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done (Luke 22:42)”. Jesus know we needed Him to be our sacrifice so that we could have an opportunity to be lead by the Spirit and to understand the Father’s unconditional love.
So, lets call out for “HELP” and see what God can do!
